Meet the Team Behind The Kan Do Creators Community

The Kan Do Creators Community is a YouTube education community founded by Andrew Kan and Ike Do. Andrew Kan, Ike Do, Stanley Orchard, Hannah Manuit, and Katherine R. Jung run it day to day, and two of them came up through the community before they ever worked in it. The thumbnail reviews, the title feedback, and the Discord replies at eleven at night are us, not a support queue.

Get to Know The KDCC Team

The Kan Do Creators Community (KDCC) was co-founded by Andrew Kan, CEO and Senior YouTube Strategist and Consultant with 13+ years of experience who built the content behind two YouTube Silver Play Buttons and led the build of the TubeBuddy community forums, and Ike Do, CCO and Chief Community Officer who grew TubeBuddy's Discord to 15,000+ creators and helped Andrew Kan build those forums into a community of over 100,000 members. Community and Support Manager Stanley Orchard, author of How To Grow on YouTube, Social Media Manager Hannah Manuit, and Community Moderator Katherine R. Jung keep the community running. Andrew Kan, Ike Do, and Stanley Orchard all came from TubeBuddy, where Katherine R. Jung was part of the community alongside them, and both Stanley Orchard and Katherine R. Jung came up as community members before they ever worked here. Across their careers the team has worked in the YouTube industry for over 13 years, on channels that have earned 12 YouTube Play Buttons and grown more than 15 million subscribers. Andrew Kan speaks internationally, most recently as Lead Speaker at the 20th International Busan Content Market and as a speaker at the 3rd SUITE Forum at Korea University in Seoul. Today the KDCC reaches 25,000+ creators through group coaching, the KANDO Method, the newsletter, and a 2,500+ member Discord.

Co-Founders

Andrew Kan

CEO & Co-Founder

Andrew Kan is a Senior YouTube Strategist and Consultant, award-winning filmmaker, and co-founder of the Kan Do Creators Community. As TubeBuddy's first hire he built the content that grew their channel from 6,000 to 530,000+ subscribers, created the KANDO Method, and now leads the coaching, video reviews, and thumbnail feedback at the KDCC. In June 2026 he was Lead Speaker at the 20th International Busan Content Market and spoke at the 3rd SUITE Forum at Korea University.

  • Built the content that grew TubeBuddy's YouTube channel from 6,000 to 530,000+ subscribers (a YouTube Silver Play Button)
  • Earned 2 Silver Play Buttons from content he built himself, TubeBuddy's and StreamYard's, on teams that have earned 12 Play Buttons up to Diamond
  • Content he's created has earned 15M+ views
  • Led the build of the TubeBuddy community forums, which grew to over 100,000 members
  • Created the KANDO Method, a five-step YouTube growth framework
  • YouTube & Video Manager for Salesforce Global Recruitment Marketing, leading video strategy for the Salesforce Careers channel
  • Lead Speaker at the 20th International Busan Content Market and speaker at the 3rd SUITE Forum at Korea University, June 2026
  • 50+ creator events spoken at or mentored, online and in person
  • Speaker at VidSummit, Vlog Summit, and Video Marketing World, mentor at VidCon and Adobe MAX, Adobe Express Ambassador and Adobe Creative Mentor, and brand partner for OpusClip, StreamYard, TubeSpanner, and Elgato

Andrew found YouTube in 2006 and has been creating on the platform for most of his life since. What started as a passion for filmmaking turned into more than 13 years of professional work in the creator space, growing channels to millions of subscribers and earning two Silver Play Buttons from content he built himself.

Andrew joined TubeBuddy as their first full-time hire and rose to Director of Video Production and Community Management. He built the content that grew their YouTube channel from 6,000 to over 530,000 subscribers, became the face of TubeBuddy's video content, and managed teams across production and community. He also led the build of the TubeBuddy community forums, working alongside Ike Do to grow them into one of the largest YouTube creator communities online at over 100,000 members. Content he's made himself has earned more than 15 million views.

After TubeBuddy, Andrew went in-house as YouTube & Video Manager for Salesforce Global Recruitment Marketing, leading video strategy and content for the Salesforce Careers YouTube channel. Between that enterprise work and years of hands-on creating, he's worked both sides of YouTube: solo creators and large in-house brand teams.

As co-founder of the Kan Do Creators Community, Andrew leads the strategy, education, and YouTube content behind the KDCC. He built the KANDO Method (Knowledge, Audience, News, Data, Optimization), the system at the center of what the KDCC teaches its 2,500+ Discord members. He runs the weekly group coaching calls, video reviews, and thumbnail feedback sessions himself. His work covers thumbnail optimization, title strategy, audience retention, YouTube SEO, and revenue diversification. Outside the community he also works with channels directly through one to one YouTube consulting.

Andrew speaks at YouTube and creator events including VidSummit, Video Marketing World, and Vlog Summit, and mentors creators at VidCon and Adobe MAX. He's an Adobe Express Ambassador and Adobe Creative Mentor, and a brand partner for creator tools including OpusClip, StreamYard, TubeSpanner, and Elgato.

In June 2026 Andrew spoke twice in Korea in two days, at the 20th International Busan Content Market and the 3rd SUITE Forum at Korea University, on why YouTube has become a FAST destination while most creators and rights holders still make video for a phone. See Andrew Kan's speaking topics and how to book him.

Andrew also runs his own YouTube channel, where he shares creator tips, behind-the-scenes strategy breakdowns, and real talk about what it takes to grow on the platform. When he's not making YouTube videos or helping creators grow, you'll probably find him taking care of his cats with his partner, looking after his betta fish, or learning Indonesian.

Ike Do

CCO & Co-Founder

Ike Do is the Chief Community Officer, writer, and co-founder of the Kan Do Creators Community. She grew TubeBuddy's Discord to 15,000+ creators, co-managed forums of 100,000+ members, and now leads community and writes the newsletter at the KDCC.

  • Grew TubeBuddy's Discord to 15,000+ creators
  • Helped Andrew Kan build the TubeBuddy community forums, which he led, and co-managed them to 100,000+ members
  • Wrote TubeBuddy YouTube Support and help articles read millions of times
  • Designed the KDCC Discord level system, from Scholars to Ruby tier
  • Writes the KDCC newsletter alongside Andrew Kan
  • Grew multiple YouTube channels of her own to full monetization
  • Leads community and member engagement for 2,500+ KDCC creators

Ike was originally brought into TubeBuddy by Andrew Kan, where she started in support and quickly rose to become the top person in both support and community management. She was instrumental in TubeBuddy's creator success, helping grow TubeBuddy's Discord to 15,000+ creators. She also helped Andrew Kan build TubeBuddy's community forums, a project he led, and co-managed them as they reached over 100,000 members. That made the forums one of the largest YouTube creator communities online.

Ike's reach goes beyond live conversations. She wrote TubeBuddy's YouTube Support and help articles in her own words, copy TubeBuddy still uses today, which has been read millions of times, answering the questions creators hit most, from their first upload to their first dollar.

As Co-Founder and Chief Community Officer of the KDCC, Ike Do leads the community experience, member engagement, and written content that holds the Kan Do Creators Community together. She designed the KDCC's Discord level system (from Scholars to Ruby tier), built the engagement structure that keeps YouTube creators active, and moderates the daily conversations that make the KDCC feel like home for creators at every stage of their channel growth.

Ike Do is also a talented writer whose natural writing ability has served her throughout her career. She writes the KDCC newsletter alongside Andrew Kan, delivering YouTube tips, community updates, and strategy breakdowns straight to creators' inboxes. Ike has a gift for taking the complex and making it understandable. Whether someone is uploading their first video or negotiating their first brand deal, Ike's writing makes strategy feel accessible.

Ike Do isn't just a community leader. She's a YouTube creator herself. Ike has grown multiple channels to full monetization, so she understands the grind firsthand. She knows what keeps YouTube creators coming back: genuine support, real feedback, and a space where every question gets answered. While other communities let posts get buried, Ike ensures the KDCC stays responsive. She built a culture where beginners feel safe asking questions and experienced creators stay because the conversations are worth having.

Together with Andrew Kan, Ike Do co-founded the KDCC on the belief that "support over ego" and "real strategy over vague advice" are what YouTube creators actually need. Beyond the KDCC, Ike is also writing a novel, which you can find at A Sapphic A Week. When she's not building community or writing, you can find her reading manga or taking care of her lifelong turtle.

Hannah Manuit

Social Media Manager

Hannah Manuit is the Social Media Manager at the Kan Do Creators Community. She trained as an actor and still performs, grew her own TikTok past 70,000 followers in the cosplay community, and now runs social media for large creator tools and creator communities, including this one.

  • Grew a personal TikTok to 70,000+ followers in the cosplay community
  • Runs social media for large creator tools and creator communities
  • Trained as an actor in college and still performs; a singer since childhood and a dancer since high school
  • Has helped productions, groups, and independent creators grow their social accounts
  • Handles the KDCC's social presence across platforms

Hannah Manuit is the Social Media Manager at the Kan Do Creators Community. Before any of this she was a performer, and she still is. She grew up singing, picked up dance in high school, went to college for acting, and continues to perform today. That background is not a detour from the job. Standing in front of an audience and reading a room in real time is most of what social media actually is.

Hannah found content creation the way a lot of people did, which is to say during the pandemic, in the cosplay community on TikTok. She grew that account past 70,000 followers herself. What worked was making real connections with the people watching, then finding the overlap between the content she genuinely wanted to make and the content her audience genuinely wanted to see. Once those two things lined up, everything got easier. She is clear-eyed that opportunity and luck played a part in where she landed, and equally clear that being prepared is what let her take those opportunities when they showed up.

She is also honest about the trap. There was a stretch where requests for a certain kind of content crowded out everything else, where the thing that performed well kept getting made and the thing she actually wanted to make kept getting pushed down the list. Finding a balance she could live with mattered more than the numbers did. It is probably why the most overrated advice in this industry, in her words, is quantity over quality. That is a useful instinct to have running social for a community that tells creators the same.

Hannah is deliberate about not letting the work eat her. Her rule is that the content exists because of her, so she has to come first, and a good week is one where she is proud of what she made and hit the deadlines she set. She would be the first to say asking for help is hard, and the first to say she is surrounded by people who want to give it. On the KDCC she puts it plainly: a community "fueled on inspiration and support", and one she is honored to be part of. Outside of work she is running a small menagerie, currently a dog, a cat, a snake, and a bird, and the app she would fight hardest to keep, for the record, is Vine.

Katherine R. Jung

Community Moderator

Katherine R. Jung, who most of the community knows as Kathy, is a Community Moderator at the Kan Do Creators Community and the creator behind KathehFit. She was in this community long before she worked in it. Back in the TubeBuddy days she was showing up for Andrew Kan and Ike Do, years before the KDCC existed.

  • Came up through the community: TubeBuddy member, then KDCC member, then moderator
  • Moderates the KDCC Discord and its 2,500+ creators
  • AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor
  • Associate Degree in Applied Exercise and Fitness
  • Creator behind KathehFit, where the dance builds confidence and the fitness builds strength, longevity, and everyday function
  • Uploading to YouTube since its earliest days, from vlogs with friends to K-Pop dance covers to fitness
  • Working artist who streams her art process live every Friday

Katherine R. Jung is a Community Moderator at the Kan Do Creators Community and the creator behind KathehFit. Most of the KDCC knows her as Kathy, and most of them met her in the Discord before they ever saw one of her videos. That is the job: she is the person who notices the question nobody answered, keeps the conversations moving, and makes sure new creators get a reply instead of silence.

Kathy is proof of something the KDCC believes and rarely gets to demonstrate: the people who build a community should be able to build a career inside it. She was a member first. Long before the Kan Do Creators Community existed she was part of the TubeBuddy community, in the same rooms as Andrew Kan and Ike Do, supporting the work they were doing there. When they started the KDCC, she showed up again. She was a member, then a regular, then the person other members went to. Becoming a moderator was not a leap. It was a title catching up to what she was already doing.

She has also been on YouTube for a very long time. Kathy started filming her friends around Chinatown in New York City back when the platform had barely launched and almost nobody had heard of it. She was there for the video reply era, made reaction videos when that meant something different than it does now, and was posting K-Pop dance covers by her early twenties. She never deleted any of it, and she still has those channels. She treats them as a time capsule rather than something to be embarrassed about, which is advice she gives other creators too: private your old videos, do not erase them. That history is the reason she is useful in the Discord. When a member is discouraged about a channel that is not moving, Kathy is not guessing at what that feels like.

KathehFit does two different jobs, and Kathy keeps them separate. The dance side is about confidence and getting comfortable moving your body. The fitness side is about strength, longevity, and everyday function, and that is where the training comes in. She is an AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor with an Associate Degree in Applied Exercise and Fitness, and it shows in what she asks of a routine before it goes out: will this help someone carry groceries, walk up the stairs, move better, get stronger. Alongside the fitness work she is an artist, and she streams her art process live on Friday nights.

Kathy is also honest about the parts creators do not usually put on an About page, including the low points, the years of building without traction, and what it took to keep going. She talked about all of it on the KDCC blog. If you want to know who is behind the mod hat, that interview is the place to start.
